Twilight Fandom Stuffs  
So, I just got an inbox message indicating that I've been nominated as part of the contest going on over on [info]sortofbeautiful, a community at which I've spent almost no time lately.

They have three catagories of stories, and they're voting on 'best of' in each: one-shots, lemons and characterization (of Jake, of course). So, I've been nominated for.....best lemon. My response to this is basically, "Thanks. Now I'm going to read all the nominees for best characterization, and they'd better be damned good. Lol!"

I'm so stuck up sometimes. Sorry. :(

Anyway, if you are interested in further inflating my ego, please go here, and vote for my smut.

No, seriously, I'm glad that folks like my smut. I really am. But I get many, many more comments about good characterization than I do about good sex scenes, so I'm kinda surprised, I guess.

In other news, I'm thinking about trying to finish a sequel, or maybe write a Bella/Laurent (which will, of course, morph into Bella/Edward later on). What think you?

I haven't read any of the other nomimees; honestly, I'm torned on the matter. On one hand, the must know good quality since they nominated you. On the other hand, they choose the lemon category and not best characterization. Although, Ch 5 of TRLT is the most IC smut that I've read for Jake...so maybe it's a wash.

I have to admit, I'm intrigued by your Bella/Laurent idea. I also find it amusing how most of your stories naturally migrate to B/E. Can't say that I'm surprised; character-wise, they are Twilight's OTP. In my eyes, Jake certainly gives Edward a run for his money. Team Switzerland, baby!

Not What I Used to Be. I have at least one chapter, but it's been a while. I can't remember how far I got.

There! :D Now each sentence that describes those scenes is a link to your image, with credit at the end of the chapter. :D Should have done that in the first place.

Yeah, that's kinda how I feel about it, too. I'm glad to be nominated, but surprised at where I landed. Especially that story - because I don't THINK of it as smut. That was my master-work for this fandom, in my eyes. The smut was incidental, rather than being the point of the story......

Maybe you didn't get the best characterization nomination because it's been so long since you've posted there? TBH, when "rereading" stories, I don't usually do so for the characterization, so it's probably dropped out of their minds.

That's probably true. :) It's been forever since I've written anything at all, much less a Jake story I could post there. Lol!
